This song was written partially out of admiration for the opera aria "Steal Me, Sweet Thief" and also personally, after I stood next to every member of my extended family as we all held hands and watched the patriarch of our family, my grandfather, leave this world. It was unlike anything I've ever experienced before. We all saw Spirit come and take him away to rest, which is what I wanted to musically convey at the end of this song.
